Compass Point Events

Compass Point Events is in Algiers Point, a charming New Orleans neighborhood across the Mississippi River from the French Quarter. It often flies under the radar of people planning a New Orleans destination wedding. This venue is pretty and convenient. You can rent out the little cottages and stay on site. The venue feels very local without being gimmicky, and it serves delicious Cajun and Creole cuisine. I love how close Compass Point Events is to other neighborhood gems, such as the French Quarter ferry. 

Degas House

Degas House sits on Esplanade Avenue. The tree-lined street has old world charm and lush garden vibes. The venue serves good local food and is staffed by professional, responsive employees. Degas House is known for its courtyard, but its interior is beautiful too. 

Catahoula Hotel

The Catahoula Hotel offers a seamless indoor-outdoor experience for a New Orleans destination wedding. Located in the CBD, its courtyard, rooftop, and rooms offer places for portraits with a modern aesthetic.

Margaret Place

Want your New Orleans destination wedding to have French Quarter energy without the inconveniences of that tourist-heavy neighborhood? Check out Margaret Place. It has clean, modern lines and conveniences like nice bathrooms. The interior design includes tropical wallpaper, and a courtyard offers a charming option for an outdoor ceremony.

Race and Religious

Race and Religious is one of the most popular wedding venues in New Orleans. This historic home has been renovated to include vintage-decorated interiors, weathered brick, and romantic archways. The reflecting pool in the courtyard is a favorite.

Derbes Mansion

Derbes Mansion was formerly known as the Benachi House. The new management did an overhaul to make it a fun, convenient, and beautiful wedding venue. They offer buyout packages as well. Derbes Mansion is in a quieter part of town, but the oak-lined avenue it sits on has old New Orleans vibes.

Ace Hotel

Of all the wedding venues on this list, the Ace Hotel has some of the moodiest vibes. The funky decor is dark and atmospheric with Art Deco details. I love a candlelit ceremony in this intimate space!

The Eliza Jane 

The Eliza Jane Hotel sits near the border of the French Quarter and CBD. Its courtyard includes a beautifully-tiled water feature and gorgeous greenery.

Drifter Hotel

The Drifter Hotel is another New Orleans wedding venue off the beaten path. It’s ideal for a run-away elopement. The hotel has pastel pink mid-century charm, a popular pool, and a bar selling delicious frozen drinks.

Hotel Peter and Paul

Hotel Peter and Paul is one of my favorite places in the entire city. This hotel and its restaurant, The Elysian Bar, are truly treats for guests and wedding couples. The hotel was formerly a church and school, so it’s full of elegant vintage pieces and original architectural details.

Hotel St. Vincent

Hotel St. Vincent was recently renovated to perfection. The property gives you everything you need to experience New Orleans, including a bright, airy restaurant with Spanish-inspired tiles, tropical murals, and a beautiful bar.

The Chloe

The Chloe is another venue relatively new to the New Orleans scene. It has a clean Uptown aesthetic with cool touches, including furniture upholstered with fun designs. It’s another place where the opportunities for portraits feels endless.

Wedding Venues without Rentals

Pharmacy Museum

The Pharmacy Museum is my favorite New Orleans wedding venue. It’s magic. True to its name, it includes rooms full of antique apothecary tools. The cozy courtyard is romantic and timeless. Since it’s in the middle of the French Quarter, there are plenty of hotels within walking distance.

Marigny Opera House

The Marigny Opera House is another in-demand venue. The historic space will appeal to theater lovers and creatives. Don’t wait to inquire if you’re interested in this venue. It books fast!

Paradigm Gardens

Paradigm Gardens is a good choice for people who love New Orleans but don’t want the city to be the whole focus of their wedding day. It shows a different side of the city with its vibrant urban gardens. If you’re a foodie, this is the venue for you!

Brennan’s Restaurant

Brennan’s is an icon of New Orleans dining. If you’re looking for quintessential Cajun/Creole dining, this is it. A Brennan’s courtyard wedding is a lush and delicious French Quarter experience.

Tigermen Den

The Tigermen Den is in the Bywater neighborhood. It’s a hidden gem. Stepping into this house-turned-wedding venue gives you a sense of the history and mystery of New Orleans. If you want your New Orleans destination wedding to be more off the beaten track, Tigermen Den is a great choice.

Sully Mansion

This restored home sits in the heart of the Garden District. Its wide porch and classic architectural details make it a dreamy place for weddings.
